Estuary is a housing association with a strong and clear regional commitment within Essex. We work very successfully within every district in Essex, the three outer East London Boroughs and in the Suffolk Coastal District.
We currently own and manage around 4200 properties. We are always looking at ways to increase the number of homes we can offer and believe it is important to build communities not just homes.
We are committed to the provision of good-quality housing, care and support services to meet local needs and to contribute to the development of sustainable communities. Our residents are at the heart of everything we do, their views are important to us in helping to shape future services.
We have just over 300 employees, two thirds of whom work providing care and support to people with learning disabilities. We also have an army of dedicated people behind the scenes providing a variety of services including rent collection, gardening, estate management and working on projects to build new houses.
Estuary Housing Association is committed to attracting and retaining high quality and self motivated staff. We strive to make a positive impact on our customers and local communities and to achieve this we need staff that feel valued, work together effectively and are committed to performing well. Improving the way we work and strengthening the organisation is therefore hugely important to us.

We are committed to the provision of good quality housing, care and support services to meet local needs and to contribute to the development of sustainable communities.
Commitment to Equality and Diversity
We value inclusiveness, and we are committed to embedding equality and diversity at the heart of our work. We aim to be an inclusive organisation, where individual differences are respected, where staff, people who use services, as well as their families and carers, are treated with dignity and on the basis of their merits, abilities and needs, and where everyone has a fair opportunity to fulfill their potential without suffering discrimination or disadvantage.
Training and Development
At Estuary, we value our staff and we believe in investing in their professional development. We offer a wide range of training courses and qualifications to our employees, which are often fully funded by the organisation. New employees undertake a comprehensive induction programme, and our appraisal and supervision policies ensure that all staff receive the opportunity for support and development in order to progress within their roles.
All employees have the opportunity to join the Social Housing Pension Scheme, which is the lead pension scheme for the social housing sector and is operated by the Pensions Trust. Benefits of this scheme include the ability to transfer your pension between employers and age-related contribution bands. Some include life assurance benefits for your family and dependants and a generous employer contribution, making this a very attractive scheme.
Recognition and Reward
We believe in recognising and rewarding staff for their achievements. Whether you’ve just completed a qualification or you’re celebrating 20 years of service with us, we’ll ensure that you are invited to attend our annual celebration event for staff achievement and receive recognition through our staff newsletter.
The support we offer for development and career progression is our way of rewarding our committed, skilled staff.
