Sevenoaks District Council has been classified by Central Government
as a 'Excellent' local authority. It is constantly striving to improve its performance

Sevenoaks District is located in west Kent bordering Greater
London, Surrey and Sussex. It covers an area of 142 square miles and has a population
of over 112,000.
Most of the area is rural in character and the entire District
is within the Green Belt. It includes many picturesque villages and hamlets,
beautiful countryside and many areas of outstanding natural beauty.
The area is rich in historical sites including Penshurst Place,
Hever Castle, Winston Churchill's former home at Chartwell, Lullingstone Castle

Sevenoaks District has excellent communications. The M25, M20
and M26 motorways are easily accessible, as they cross the District, and Gatwick
airports and the channel ports and the Channel Tunnel Rail Link are all within
easy reach. The railway service to London is very good with regular services
to London's Charing Cross Station, which takes on average 30 minutes.
