Policy Insight Analyst

We are looking for an experienced professional to join our growing Policy Insight Team.

Slough is a place which has all the characteristics of a London borough – we have a young and diverse population and great ambitions for the future - there is a lot of investment and regeneration coming into the town.

Slough’s population also has some key social and economic challenges which we as a council are working to address - and in this role you will be able to make a tangible impact in improving the lives of our residents.

In this role you will lead research of local and national issues to develop evidence based-policy and strategic planning to support the council in its drive to continually improve services and value for money for our customers.

You will also have the opportunity to work closely with the council’s partners - such as the NHS, the Police and the voluntary sector - and to gain experience working with elected members on Slough’s scrutiny panels. This is not a deskbound position and you will need to build effective relationships with other areas of the organisation and at all levels.

To succeed you will be have to be flexible, enthusiastic and willing to make a positive difference every day. You will also need to have excellent analytical and drafting skills, possess a wide range of interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex messages in a succinct way to a range of audiences.

If you can commit to this we can support you to develop your current skills in a fast moving corporate environment and provide you with opportunities to gain experience in a range of areas.

For an informal discussion about the post please contact Tom Overend, Policy Insight Manager - 01753 87 5657.
