Are you a self-motivated problem-solver who relishes the opportunity to find solutions to practical issues as they arise?

We have a fantastic opportunity for a multi-tasking Handy Person to work within Kilburn Grange Children’s Centre.  The main objective of this role will be to ensure all aspects of building maintenance and minor repairs are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and Council procedures. Additionally you may be asked to cover the main reception. The ideal candidate will provide a flexible, responsive and high quality service including carrying out all minor repairs at the setting (i.e. repairs to toilets, toys, locks, furniture, putting up shelves & noticeboards and changing lightbulbs) and undertake small-scale painting and decorating tasks i.e. small rooms, walls, etc. In addition gardening and cleaning windows. This role will also require the post holders to undertake work that requires physical effort, i.e. lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, sweeping and bending.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

About you

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service and communication and numerical skills both written and oral and will be able to engage and resolve a wide range of maintenance issues such as cleaning, repairs, small-scale painting and decorating and gardening. You will have a good working knowledge of basic maintenance techniques and an excellent understanding of health and safety at work. You may be required to undertake work that requires physical effort, i.e. lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, sweeping and bending.
