Horsham District Council are looking for a Community Development Officer – Grants and Funding to attract grants and other funding resources into the District, either through grants for the Council or in conjunction with a range of other cross-sector partners, organisations and community groups. They will also manage HDC grants.
As Community Development Officer you will sit within the Community Development team who are guided by a set of principles which include social inclusion, equality, and sustainable activities.
The post holder will be expected to work with a broad range of external organisations and partners to identify and attract funding that support and provide activities and services which achieve these outcomes and make the Horsham District a safer and healthier place for all residents and communities.
The post holder will also process, manage and monitor a range of community grants and funds to ensure that additional services are provided as necessary and make the best use of HDC resources. They will also work closely with Horsham District Voluntary Sector Support and other HDC departments as necessary and be proactive in the Horsham District Community Lottery.
To succeed as Community Development Officer a track record of bidding for and achieving grants and funding is desirable but a community minded person with good relationship management, communication, problem solving and organisational skills who is keen to make a difference is most important.
The specific work structure in respect of days and hours worked will be agreed with the successful applicant.
