The Children`s Safeguarding and Reviewing Service are seeking to appoint two qualified social workers to the role of Independent Reviewing Officer.
You will be responsible for ensuring that child protection conferences and statutory reviews for children who are looked after are held within required timescales and reflect robust assessment and decision making processes. You will be required to ensure that appropriate child focused plans are developed and actions required are completed by the responsible agencies within identified timescales.
Applicants will have a minimum of five years post qualification experience and hold a diploma in social work or equivalent. Experience and knowledge of childcare social work, chairing meetings, and relevant legislation and guidance is essential; this includes having the capacity to analyse risk, manage meetings and appropriately challenge professionals in the context of safeguarding and delivering timely and positive outcomes for children who are looked after. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is required along with excellent communication skills and a commitment to partnership working. Applicants of this customer facing role will have the ability to provide advice and guidance in accurate spoken English as required under the immigration act 2016.
