Service Centre Supervisor (Library)

GLL is looking for a Full time or a Part time Service Centre Supervisor based at the Greenwich Centre, located within the Greenwich Square development centre. This is a multipurpose facility incorporating both leisure and library facilities.

The Service Centre Supervisor will supervise the Service Centre Advisors in our state-of-the-art library and the leisure reception area. Customer service is at the heart of this role and you'll be a vital support to the Assistant Service Centre Manager, to ensure a high level of excellent customer service is maintained across the facility and targets are met. You'll help deal with general information and library service enquiries in person, in writing, by telephone and email.

The library provides a full range of services including public PC's, extensive book stock, children's and teen zones, quiet study and an activities programme to suit all ages from children's story times to silver surfer IT classes. We are looking for individuals keen and able to take on new responsibilities. Whether you have a background in libraries, leisure or other areas we will provide the training to enable you to make a difference in all aspects of the role.

Ensuring both in house and national initiatives are delivered locally, you'll lead activities and events working with children, teenagers and a diverse community. You will also assist with the maintenance and presentation of books and other stock.

Good IT, literacy, numerical and communication skills are vital for this role - combined with the ability to quickly get up to speed on our services and systems. You'll have experience of finding information and cash handling as well as a can-do attitude. Thriving in a team and learning new skills, you'll confidently deal with customers with tact and sensitivity too. A strong people manager, you'll motive and inspire the team to achieve targets and key performance indicators.
