Registered Nurse

Millbrow is a care home specialising in nursing care for older adults, including those with Dementia related illness. There are 44 bedrooms, as well as a number of communal areas. The care home is situated in the residential area of Millbrow in Widnes and has easy access routes via public transport links.

The care home was recently purchased by the Local Authority and is now owned and run by Halton Borough Council. A major investment plan is underway to improve the quality of the service and there is a an exciting opportunity to be a part of an innovative team working towards ensuring that Millbrow becomes recognized Centre of Excellence for excellent care provision within the borough.

We are looking for caring, hardworking, compassionate and dedicated registered nurses who are clinically trained with evidenced experience to provide support to residents with complex health conditions in a nursing care home environment.

You will need to be registered with the necessary regulatory body and have a proven training record appropriate to the role with the ability to adhere to professional standards, statutory, regulatory and legal requirements and provide specialist nursing support and advice.

You will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the care of the residents within specific nursing units of the care home and be able to support and supervise a team of care workers with the day to day running of the unit, reporting to the senior nurse and/or registered manager.

You will be professional, preferably with knowledge and skills of working in a care home environment. You will positively support and encourage residents; attending to their physical, emotional, cultural and social needs using a person centred approach whilst delivering excellent clinical care.

We work within a multidisciplinary team, you will develop and maintain effective working relationships with a range of professionals including Community Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Dieticians and Social Workers. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to effectively communicate with and listen to others. You will also be competent in accurately maintaining clear and concise written records and reports.
