An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and dynamic property development professional to coordinate an equally ambitious development programme for Hertsmere Developments Limited (HDL), an ‘arms length’ income generating business of Hertsmere Borough Council.
You will support the company’s Board of Directors to drive forward HDL’s development programme to build new housing for sale and rent mainly within Hertsmere taking on responsibility for implementing the company’s business plan and ensuring that developments are of the highest build and design quality.
You will act as a key conduit between the Board and the Council and will play a key role in asset transfer and funding decisions. You will carry out the day-to-day management of HDL including procurement and management of external professional services and main contractors.
The post holder will make a vital contribution to the development of the Company’s commercial property strategy and will be accountable to the HDL Board for efficient and effective programme management including the achievement of anticipated returns on investment within the agreed project tolerances.

Hertsmere is located in Hertfordshire – 13 miles from Central London and within the M25. The Council Offices are situated in Borehamwood within Zone 6 and with a direct rail link into London Kings Cross St. Pancras. The area is home to BBC Elstree and Elstree Studios (a council owned asset).
