Within our Care and Support services we put individuals at the heart of everything we do. As an apprentice within our team, you will be offering person-centred support and care to vulnerable adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, frail and elderly and individuals living with Dementia. In our residential and day services.
During your apprenticeship you will split your time between a Learning Disability Service and an Older person’s service.
As a Senior Care and Support Apprentice you will:
- Support manage and assist our customers to participate/engage in social activities.
- Develop your knowledge of shift management, care planning, medication management and staff support.
- Complete customer assessments, care plans, be involved in the reviewing process and complete any other relevant documentation.
- Manage/assist in keeping accurate, legible records in accordance with registration, legal and procedural requirements. (records may be recorded electronically or written)
- Support the physical and emotional needs of customers to enable them to maintain maximum independence in a safe and secure environment.
Ideally, you will already hold a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care. Maths and English GCSEs at grades A* to C or 4 to 9 are desirable but not essential. Where these qualifications are not achieved our apprentices will undertake Functional Skills as part of the apprenticeship.
You will be required to undertake an initial assessment as part of the interview if you do not already hold maths and English GCSE’s or equivalents.
