We’re looking for a proactive individual with fundraising, sales or marketing experience to join us as New Partnerships Executive and help us secure exciting new and mutually beneficial income generating partnerships.
Part of an award-winning fundraising division, our High Value Partnerships team covers Philanthropy, Legacy, Trusts & Foundations and Corporate fundraising. The Corporate Partnerships Team contributes to the growth of our voluntary income by securing relationships with the private sector that support our mission. Many commercial organisations recognise the need to protect housing and build communities. Indeed, this forms a core pillar of many CSR agendas and business models. Over the past year, we’ve built long-term partnerships with B&Q, HSBC and M&S Bank. With your help, we’ll meet our ambitious team budget for 2019/20 and beyond.
About the role
The challenge here will be to use your expertise and creativity to identify and secure income generating partnerships with the private sector. With the support of the team, you’ll have the scope to develop your own ideas for proposals focusing on employee engagement and brand activations across a range of sectors and will be fully supported to pitch these. What’s more, you’ll play an integral role in the team by helping with research, proposal development and pitches for sector-leading partnerships with the UK’s biggest brands. You will also monitor performance and progress against objectives and take responsibility for early stewardship of incoming enquiries from companies eager to support Shelter.
We’re looking for someone who can spot the potential for activities that generate income, with the drive to translate ideas into action. You will have experience of selling a cause, product or service and the communication skills it takes to engage a variety of stakeholders. You might already be working in a fundraising function, or possibly in business development. Either way, you’ll be equally effective whether you’re being proactive or reactive, and excited to build a career in corporate fundraising with us. Knowledge of the different types of corporate partnerships and their business benefits is important too, as is the ability to write successful proposals/presentations and manage the day-to-day delivery of multiple projects.
We offer a wide range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family friendly policies, pension and interest free travel loans. Our employees also have access to a tenancy deposit loan, cycle to work scheme and an employee assistance programme.
Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We’re here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.
