Outreach Youth Worker

Young people are our future and deserve to grow up in a place where they feel safe and protected and where they can grow and flourish.  Youth work is critical to ensuring that young people have the best opportunities to achieve their potential.  It enables young people to succeed by providing high quality informal education opportunities to promote their personal and social development. It supports young people who are challenged in education, their communities or home life to ensure a successful transition to adulthood.

We are now recruiting for our new Diversionary and Outreach Youth Service for Northamptonshire and seek  Youth Workers who are passionate about helping young people become confident, informed and empowered to be proud of who they are as unique individuals.

We are expanding fast and the demand for our work is ever increasing and we aim to meet the needs of young people across Northamptonshire. We have some amazing partnerships in the pipeline and some fantastic opportunities as well that we want to take up but we can’t do this alone and therefore we are seeking an amazing team of people who are self-motivated, passionate and whose actions speak louder than their words to join our new Service and help us move things forward.

The priority for the Youth Service is targeted prevention and early intervention to ensure that young people get the help they need early and to reduce the necessity for higher cost specialist intervention.

You will be part of a team delivering across the county and focus of your work will be with vulnerable and at-risk groups to engage young people with preventative programmes, support personal development and learning, reduce school exclusions and harm, risk and exploitation.

You will have the ability to quickly establish positive relationships with diverse groups of young people and partners, to respond flexibly to their needs and to the priorities of the Service. You will need to be a good communicator and advocate of young people.
