Community Bus Driver
25 hours per week (including Saturdays, Sundays and evenings)
£19,037 - £19,406 inclusive of outer fringe allowance pro rata
We are looking for Welfare Driver to join our team to provide a safe and reliable service, transporting passengers to a variety of locations with consideration to safety, speed and comfort whilst providing excellent customer service to all passengers.
Your responsibilities will include assisting elderly and frail customers onto the vehicle using the tail lift if required, collect payments and issuing tickets and checking the fuel, oil, water, and battery, clutch and fluid levels on a daily basis. You will be responsible for reporting any defects or damage to the Community Transport Officer.
You will need to have experience of working with the public in a customer service environment along with experience of cash handling. With knowledge of traffic regulations, you will have the ability to read maps and follow directions. You will need to be able to work flexibly over 7 days per week. You will need a full driving license valid in the UK to drive a mini bus of up to 16 seats.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
