Newham Adult Mental Health Services are changing, in line with the Care Act, the way social work is delivered. Our Adults Mental Health Service is looking to recruit Senior Practitioners across various teams in the Mental Health Service.
£39,774 - £42,681 pa plus a market supplement
The post is based in within the local authority dealing with adults who have complex and enduring mental health problems. As part of a fast paced responsive service, you must be able to problem solve, prioritise quickly, identify risk, be able to build professional relationships, empower people in their families and communities, support people to manage their own risks, know and apply legislation, maximise independence, access practical support and advice and work with others to achieve the best possible outcomes. You will deliver high quality risk and needs assessments. Your Recovery based intervention skills and support will enable our service users with complex mental health needs, their carers and families to maximize their choices, control and independence. You will also provide support and advice to Qualified social workers / AMHP's and carry more complicated cases. This is a qualified social work post, so you’ll need to have a social work qualification and be registered with HCPC. The ideal candidate will currently be a practicing AMHP and this will attract a £3,000 supplement, if you are not already an AMHP there would be opportunties for you to undertake the relevant training.
