Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant who is a passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic individual, with a sense of humour, to join our highly committed team. The post will involve supporting the learning needs of a pupil on a 1:1 basis, commencing Monday 4th January 2021.

The ideal candidate would be educated to NVQ level 3 and have experience of supporting children with specific learning difficulties at lower KS2.

We are seeking someone who will: • Effectively promote the inclusive ethos and values of our school • Support the daily routines and requirements of a pupil • Deliver high quality learning experiences • Work as an effective team player • Have high expectations of all children’s achievement and a commitment to inspiring learners • Be self-motivated, flexible and adaptable • Demonstrate initiative.

We would expect you to have: Knowledge of Phonics, letters and sounds formation • Excellent personal and communication skills • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) at grade C+ • Competent IT skills • Organisational skills and be able to work independently recording children’s progress.

Main duties are: • To deliver a bespoke intervention programme • To assist and support the teacher in the delivery of learning activities • To help the pupil develop the skills required in all subject areas • To assist the Designated Teacher/Support Staff with resources required for any activity • To help with the care and support of a pupil individually and in groups • Communicate effectively with staff.
