About the role and team
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to fulfil the role of Animal Warden within our ambitious and progressive Shared Environmental Health Partnership at Mole Valley and Tandridge District Councils and be a valued member of a friendly and professional team. This role is based predominantly in the Tandridge district, based in Oxted, at the foot of the Surrey North Downs.

You will have a wide ranging role with a varied work load including dealing with stray dogs, enforcement duties relating to dog control and carrying out animal welfare licencing inspections.

You will need to have experience of working with dogs in a professional capacity, be able to use your own initiative and work well as part of a team. You must possess good communication skills and have experience of dealing directly with members of the public.
The role involves a significant amount of time on site carrying out inspections patrols and responding to service requests. Therefore the ability to work on your initiative with limited on site supervision is an important part of the role. There will also be times when working outside of normal office hours to attend meetings and undertake enforcement work will be required.

Full driving licence is essential

Knowledge of Legislation and Enforcement procedures and certificated attendance at a recognised Dog Warden training course is desirable.
