Reporting to the Project Engineer – Major Works (Street Works), you will contribute to the delivery of highways and countryside services in West Berkshire, and in particular the Street Works service through effective liaison with Utility Companies, contractors and other service areas within the Council.
You will primarily be responsible for delivering the Street Works service in accordance with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) 1991, Highways Act 1980 and Traffic Management Act 2004, in particular, the inspection of sites in accordance with the Code of Practice for Inspections, administration of permits, notices, consents and licences including gathering evidence in relation to the enforcement of these Acts.
You will also deal with enquiries received through the Council’s Enquiry Logging Manager (ELM) system.
You should be educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including good passes in English, Maths, and one technical/science subject and should have in the operational application of NRSWA.
