CDS is on a mission! We champion co-op and community-led housing where people design, develop, build or manage their homes themselves. We aim to make this a mainstream option for both rent and home ownership. To that end, we are investing in people and partnerships that can help us make this market fly.


We currently support about 40 co-ops that house more than 2,200 households by providing or overseeing a variety of housing management services and back office administration functions under instruction from our clients. We are also a social landlord, providing housing management to our own residents living in nearly 1,000 properties.

You will join our busy housing services team as someone who is customer-focussed and determined to get things right for our customers and clients.

You will be responsible for efficiently organising tenancy management work, ensuring your work is completed on time and our customers are satisfied.


Your role will include responsibility for voids and lettings on your patch, along with effectively procuring and managing estate gardening and cleaning contracts, handling mutual exchanges, carrying out estate inspections and safety checks, carrying out home visits, progressing tenancy changes, resolving antisocial behaviour issues, engaging residents and quickly and accurately responding to resident and stakeholder queries. Although you will be expected to effectively collaborate with our repairs, income collection and finance teams to achieve organisational objectives, this role is not directly responsible for managing repairs or rent collection.


The patch is spread out, requiring periodic travel (at least monthly) to estates in Milton Keynes, Hemel Hempstead, Welyn Garden City, Colchester and more. For this reason, we believe having a vehicle and valid driving license is essential, but if you think you are the best person for this job and can thrive with this patch despite not driving, please apply and convince us.


We’re looking for a dedicated team player with excellent communication skills and an abundance of enthusiasm and ambition to provide brilliant housing management services to the residents living on their patch. You may not have specific experience in housing management, but your proven track record of providing excellent customer service and using your problem-solving skills to deliver objectives in a fast-paced setting will set you up for success in this role. If you are a hard-worker who is committed to customers, are a proficient writer and computer user, have an undying positive attitude and can’t help but leave things better than you found them, we really want to hear from you. We are open to teaching the successful candidate how to do the specific and technical aspects of the job.
