Legal Services Team Manager and Deputy Monitoring Officer

Band I, £43,662 - £47,502 + £3,266.44 pa for Deputy Monitoring Officer Duties

The Lexcel accredited Legal Services Team is looking for a Team Manager who will also undertake the role of Deputy Monitoring Officer. You will be required to provide commercially aware legal advice to internal and external clients as well as advising on a range of governance issues. You will be required to provide managerial support to the Senior Solicitors, Practice Manager and Data Protection Officer as well as providing direction for other staff as appropriate. It is also essential for the successful candidate to develop the team as a business unit and maximise income generation opportunities. 

In order to be considered for this exciting role, you must be a qualified Solicitor who holds or is eligible to hold a Solicitor’s practising certificate. 

Recent experience in public sector projects (commercial contracts, procurement, real estate, regeneration or construction) is essential. 

Knowledge of at least two (2) of the following areas is also desirable:

-           Local authority governance;

-           Councillor Code of Conduct

-           Business planning, marketing and income generation

-           Line management
