Here at Central Bedfordshire Council, we want to make sure that our residents have the support and advice they need to lead fulfilling lives. To support them we provide benefit information to our customers who have care services and determine what they should contribute to that care service. You’ll find your greatness as you work closely with colleagues and customers to make the financial assessment process run as smoothly as possible.
The main purpose of the role is to undertake home visits to gather financial information and evidence from clients to support the financial assessment process for care services and advise them on the charging process.
You will be responsible for providing advice to clients on potential benefits they can claim and how to access additional follow up assistance with the Pension Service and other agencies.
Previous experience of working in one of the following areas is essential for this role and more than one would be desirable - Benefits Advice, Customer Finance, Social services, working with vulnerable client groups, debt recovery work and advocacy.
