Havering Council have two Hostels in the Borough as well as a portfolio of Houses of multiple occupation, housing a mixture of families and single people.

We pride ourselves on offering a holistic service to all residents of the Hostels and HMO’s with a firm focus on achieving positive outcomes and working closely with parents and children to support positive changes where necessary.

To provide a comprehensive housing management service to residents of the hostels and HMo’s in line with their assessed needs and with the Council’s mission and values.

To offer quality services ensuring arrears and income recovery performance targets and objectives are met through efficient but flexible working.

To adopt a Customer focussed approach that is sensitive and responsive to resident needs and encourages and maximises resident involvement

To assist the Hostel & HMO Team Leader and the rest of the team in the general day to day running of the Hostels, managing a set caseload and ensuring the safeguarding and protection of residents in the Hostel.

Whilst a specific qualification is not required we are looking for someone with experience of working in a supportive environment in a front facing team.

You should also have experience of effective multi disciplinary working and be able to working to tight deadlines and objectives with minimum supervision.

You should possess excellent communication skills, considering the differing needs of others and be able to adapt your style accordingly.

You should look to proactively gather information about others and use this to be able to establish and meet their current and future needs.
