About the role

Are you experienced in Change Management and looking for a new challenge in a multi-faceted and dynamic environment supporting vital public services?

IT & Digital is a key service within the Orbis Partnership, providing IT support, development and transformation services for Surrey County Council, East Sussex County Council and Brighton & Hove City Council. Orbis is a public sector shared services partnership, comprising approximately 2,000 employees working across the three councils.

Service Transition is a function within the Customer & Partnerships Group. Our team works in context of the partners' overall technology architecture, to manage, develop and embed the use of relevant ITIL-based controls, strategies, policies, standards and practices. The team ensures that all technical change is delivered to agreed standards and timescales, using appropriate methodologies.

The Service Transition team has designed and implemented a single Change Management process across Orbis IT&D along with a unified CAB. All change records are logged, assessed and processed in a single service management tool.

In this role, you will be responsible for the day to day management of the Orbis Change Management process. This includes categorising new change, processing and seeking approval for change and conducting post implementation reviews. You will support the developing maturity of Change Management awareness across the Partnership, and will contribute to training and support programmes for colleagues. The role also supports the agreed Service Transition process to ensure smooth transition of new technologies and processes into the live environment.

The role is based in Surrey, however on occasion you will be required to attend other sites within the geography of the Orbis Partnership.

To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:

  • Substantial experience of managing a Change Management process within an organisation
  • An ability to identify and drive through process improvement
  • Evidence of managing and chairing CAB meetings
  • ITIL qualification in Service Transition
