In this exciting role, you will help deliver the council’s flagship and pipeline of other strategically significant schemes. This will total over 4,200 residential units, cumulatively delivering 36% on an affordable basis. This will include over 25,000 sq m of mixed use commercial and community space, supported by a minimum of £10m in planning contributions. The pipeline also includes two mixed use developments of over 700 units, as well as up to 10 schemes of between 80 and 500 units. We believe we offer a career defining opportunity to work with a dynamic leadership team on some of the most transformative developments in London. These developments reflect the council’s ambitious growth agenda for the Borough, which last year alone saw Waltham Forest grant permission for 3,000 new homes. You will have the chance to help shape schemes to deliver the council’s aspiration to provide a high quality built environment and be part of the Borough of Culture legacy.
We are a dynamic council seeking to respond positively to austerity and other challenges facing the local government sector. We offer an excellent range of benefits including flexible and remote working; along with a pension scheme and opportunities for your personal development – including attendance on the Future London Leaders programme. For more details please see our recruitment webpage.
We are looking for someone who has the drive and energy to help deliver this ambitious agenda within the Majors Team by supporting the renewed emphasis on high quality architectural design, residential accommodation and public realm. You will support the Planning Manager with the transformation of the Development Management Team by helping to implement the Service Improvement Plan and the new back office IT system. All the while, you’ll continue to raise the bar of professional standards by investing in the development of the team and increasing income levels into the department.
