Policy & Improvement Officer

This is an exciting opportunity for you to help shape the future of Sheffield.

Based in the Strategy & Partnerships Team, within the Policy and Partnerships service, the Policy and Improvement Officer role is both fast-paced and varied, working on a range of pieces of work at the same time, and working to a number of different customers both inside and outside the organisation, including our Cabinet and Elected Members, our Executive Management Team and services from across the organisation.

There will be a premium on working in partnership, both locally and nationally and you will need to be able to form strong relationships with people at all levels and from all sectors, to lead complex pieces of work, and to work to tight deadlines. In particular, this will mean working with vital partners from the public, private and voluntary, community and faith sectors in Sheffield to develop policy solutions to our biggest opportunities and challenges. Working with the Strategy and Partnerships Manager, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing citywide networks, strengthening collaboration on a range of key issues.

In addition to detailed and varied project work, you will be producing policy reports and briefings; to provide regular support and advice to our Executive Management Team and services around performance improvement; and to support the work of the rest of the service.

We have included some background information about the role, our team and our areas of responsibility. We particularly welcome applicants from Black, Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, as they are currently under-represented within our service.

Unless stated, all posts are open to part time / job share arrangements; and we are open to discussions about flexible working

We are committed to fairness and social justice and welcome applications from everyone. We value our diverse workforce and aim to work together to make the most of our differences. Under the Disability Confident Scheme, disabled applicants, who meet the essential criteria of this job, are guaranteed an interview.
