Community Development Freelance Contract
This is an exciting opportunity to work with Waltham Forest’s first Community Land Trust, Forest CLT. Established in July 2018 by community volunteers, we are a Community Benefit Society registered with the Financial Conduct Authority.
It is our aim to build multi tenure sustainable homes and a community hub in Waltham Forest. These homes will be affordable in perpetuity under the stewardship of Forest CLT.
We have been awarded the Cohesive Communities Fund by the National Community Land Trust Network to undertake work to develop our project. This fund is to strengthen our CLT in a number of ways primarily through widening and diversifying our membership and building our project delivery and fundraising capacity.
Community Development Brief:
By working very closely with the Forest CLT board to facilitate, utilise and broaden it’s expertise to: Devise and implement a strategy to expand and engage a more culturally, ethnically and age diverse membership with the FCLT project and to connect to more community groups that share our vision.
Key Skills required:
Project management and strategic development
Implementing operational / administrative systems and making them functional for future projects
Identifying and securing funding possibilities to build our project capacity and enable the vision

It is our hope that by working with a Community Development Worker we may overcome the societal barriers that prevent people from hearing about us or joining us. Our aim is to work with an engaged membership that truly reflects the wonderfully diverse community within Waltham Forest.
£9,125 budget. To include: Freelance Fee, Project Budget and ring fenced £2,125 for Marketing and Community Events.
