Casual Community Meals Cook

The Community Meals on Wheels Service delivers hot lunchtime meals to people in their own homes throughout North Somerset, seven days a week, including Bank Holidays. 


The service operates from two kitchens, based in Worle and Clevedon, with delivery rounds operating on a geographical basis from each kitchen. 


We are looking to increase our casual pool of cooks for the service. The role involves selecting frozen meals in line with the planned delivery sheets, heating the meals and sorting them for collection by helper drivers each day. Shifts are from 8.00am – 12 noon. There is also are requirement to assist in stock control and management.


No formal qualifications are required, but a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate would be an advantage. 


Successful applicants will be fully supported with training and shadowing opportunities as part of an induction and a be part of a dedicated staff team. Training will be given in Food Hygiene if required.


This post is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitations of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
