As part of a Housing organisation with circa57,000 homes and more than 120,000 residents and customers, this role will be part of the team tasked with making that vision a reality.
For the successful candidate there is an opportunity to take ownership of a range of business operations within the Region. You will work with the other Regional Directors to provide strategic direction and operational leadership delivering excellent housing and care and support services in compliance with relevant regulation and legislation. As the Regional Director you will be an effective member of the Customer Services Senior Leadership Team working collaboratively with the Executive Director and other Directors and colleagues within and outside of the Directorate to ensure a sustainable, dynamic and successful organization.
Your team will have accountability for circa 20,000 homes, which includes a mix of social rent, key workers, Older Peoples service, Supported, Shared Ownership and Leasehold. Your team will deliver housing services to all tenures and a range of care and support services including Extra Care, Forensic Mental Health pathway services and supported living for individuals with Learning Difficulties. You will lead on external stakeholder relationships and work with the key stakeholders in your core boroughs on innovative approaches which will join the dots between Health, Housing and Social Care working with the NHS and Local Authorities.
You will have experience of working at a senior level in a large operational service delivery team. You will have either sector experience, or have worked in an environment where there is a need for strong understanding of the policy and socio-economic issues affecting social housing customers and the neighbourhoods where they live. Ideally you will have worked in a regulated sector.
To be a success in this role you will be a strong leader, with demonstrable experience of embedding new ways of working and change across multiple teams. This role requires someone who is passionate about what we do and how we do it, with experience of managing the performance of dispersed teams to drive growth through continuous improvement. You will need to be a role model for your team and have the ability to influence and challenge colleagues within and outside of the organisation. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and / or have experience relevant to the role. You may have a relevant professional qualification/membership of sector or trade bodies
The ability to travel nationally and to meet external commitments is essential
