Principal Accountant

Wyre is a diverse and exciting borough in the west of Lancashire which combines historic coastal and market towns with new and growing business, retail and leisure developments. The role will work closely with the Head of Finance (Deputy s.151 Officer) to help shape the Financial Services Team. The Principal Accountant will provide key support on the preparation of the Council’s Budget and lead on the Statement of Accounts under the direction of the Head of Finance and will prepare the Collection Fund and NNDR returns.

Digital transformation is a key strand to the Council’s Business Plan and the post will provide systems administrator support on key financial systems such as the Civica integrated ledger system.

They will produce the capital budgets and regular reports to Members during the course of the financial year.

The successful applicant will be an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
