Service Accountant (Adults, Housing and Health)

To support the Finance Business Partner and the Senior / Principal Accountant, we are looking for an adaptable and self-motivated qualified accountant to provide financial support, analysis and advice to services within the People and Communities Directorate. This is a career graded post, which allows for progression once agreed criteria have been met.

Whilst it is essential that the successful candidate will have well-developed technical accountancy and analytical skills, it is equally important that they are able to demonstrate “business partnering” skills; we are particularly looking for applications from candidates who are passionate about the services they support, proactively seek to understand the business models that underpin services and are able to build effective relationships with managers within front-line services.

Other key skills that will be necessary for success are the ability to adapt to changing environments and to continually seek more efficient ways of working. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate excellent presentation and communications skills and an aptitude to positively embrace and influence change.

It will be a significant advantage for candidates to have knowledge and experience of working with services in adult social care.
