Air Quality Specialist Advisor

Lewes & Eastbourne Councils have declared a climate emergency and have set ambitious targets to be carbon neutral by 2030. As part of this commitment we are recruiting for an Air Quality Specialist Advisor to join our ambitious and high performing team. In this role you will take ownership and responsibility for delivery air quality projects and maintaining 2 air quality management areas in Lewes and Newhaven. You will need to work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to identify, develop and implement air quality improvements across both areas.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to use your excellent communication skills to provide the very best customer experience and achieve successful outcomes in improving air quality. Working knowledge of air quality standards and environmental permitting regulatory requirements would be advantageous, your ability to contribute to maintaining and enhancing our reputation with a range of customers, stakeholders and partners will be key. You will be passionate about the environment and sustainability issues with the ability to grasp complex legislation and the capacity to explain, apply and monitor such legislation. You will have excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills and strong IT and administrative skills.
