Teacher of History

Required for April 2020

Due to the promotion of the current post holder, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivational individual to teach History and join our thriving History department.

Whether you are an established teacher or a NQT wishing to start your teaching career, if you are ambitious, have a passion for History and are able to deliver excellent lessons that are exciting, engaging and inclusive then we wish to hear from you.

History is an extremely popular subject with over 80% of the cohort opting to study at GCSE in the last two years and increasing numbers at A Level. Last year 20% of students achieved grades 7+ at GCSE and 77% achieved A*-C at A Level. The curriculum is enhanced by a variety of well-established trips and visits including trips to Auschwitz, Berlin and University visits.

Cox Green is a well-established co-educational Academy school, situated in the heart of the community of Cox Green, Maidenhead. We have been graded “good” by Ofsted and are oversubscribed year on year; testimony to the quality of teaching and learning we provide. As one of the top performing schools in the area we take pride in getting the most out of each of our students. Last year 80% of our GCSE students achieved grades 4+ in English and 76% in Maths. Visitors comment on the excellent relationships that exist and that student behaviour is very good. Our students thrive in an environment committed to achievement, supported by our team of excellent teachers and pastoral staff.

We place great emphasis on staff professional development and we offer outstanding training and support. Cox Green School also takes a leading role in the Teach Maidenhead programme, the region’s teacher training provider.
