Where our vacancy is:

The job is about supporting people
The Vivo Values underpin everything that we do and the role of the Support Worker is Key in ensuring that the values are lived out in day to day practice. As a Support Worker, your first priority will be to build a trusting relationship with the people who need our services.

Comfortable ‘being’ with a Person living with dementia, the warmth of your nature together with your genuine interest in ‘getting to know the Person you are supporting, will enable you to respond appropriately to their needs. Likewise, in knowing the Person you are supporting, and understanding their needs and aspirations, you will find creative ways to engage those who experience difficulty communicating so that they are empowered and fully included in community life.

You will work closely with family carers as care companions and will you will share in the care of their relative and encourage their involvement in the development of care and support plans. As a friend and companion to the person living with dementia, you will seek to ensure that their dignity, privacy and life-style choices are known and respected by all members of the Curzon House community. Focussing on what the person can do, you will agree with them a plan of support that will sustain and maximise the older person’s capabilities by creating opportunities to be involved in all aspects of daily life, stepping in only when you need to but always leaving the Person feeling safe, secure and comfortable with a sense of achievement and never one of failure.

We are looking for someone who
The needs of the people we support are complex and can vary from day to day, so you will need to be reliable, trustworthy, flexible, adaptable, resilient and creative but above all, have a positive ‘can do’ attitude that enables you to work through any problem that comes your way. Experience in dementia care is essential.

This means you can turn your hand to most things. If you can meet this challenge, the job is yours!
