Horsham District Council are looking for a Civil Enforcement Officer to join our highly successful Parking Services team. Civil Enforcement Officers undertake parking enforcement duties both on and off street throughout the district. This important role contributes to road safety, efficient traffic flow and ensuring that parking is available for all users all through enforcing traffic regulations.
As a Civil Enforcement Officer, you will work within a highly motivated and supportive team covering the entire Horsham district. The role will require you to work in all weather conditions and undertake a significant amount of walking, clocking up around 8 miles each day. This is a rewarding role for someone that enjoys working with public and supporting the local area.
The role operates on a shift basis working 5 days over the 7-day week including weekends and Bank Holidays.
To succeed as Civil Enforcement Officer, you will enjoy working with people, be friendly, polite, and willing to offer support, advice and assistance to colleagues and customers. To undertake the role, you will need a level 2 qualification; this is something that we are willing to provide to the right candidate.
Basic computer skills would be an advantage, as you will be using a hand-held device daily. Good numeracy and literacy skills are required together with good observation and accuracy abilities.
A full uniform will be provided including footwear along with all essential equipment as required.
You must hold a current manual driving licence for a minimum of 2 years, to undertake the full duties of this post (vehicles are provided). All other required training will be given in all aspects of the role. You will also be required to undertake a DBS check for this role.
