Could you help plan and build around £300m of infrastructure in North Somerset?
Our Major Projects Team is looking to recruit to five senior roles that will be vital to delivering multi-million-pound projects that will be used by North Somerset residents and visitors for generations.
From transport projects like Portishead’s railway and a road to bypass Banwell, to buildings, like schools, you will support the senior programme manager to make sure these major schemes are delivered on time and within budget.
The senior project manager, two project managers and two project technical leads will all work collaboratively with contractors, colleagues across the organisation, and with our partners, in North Somerset and the West of England, to ensure major works are well managed and deliver the expected outcomes. To be successful you will be an accomplished team player who will be an advocate for change and innovation, put customers first, work well with others and get things done.
The senior project manager will have extensive knowledge and experience in managing contractors, budgets and resources. You will have a proven track record of successful project delivery, and be able to investigate, evaluate and present technical justification and estimates to deliver high standards.
As well as the chance to take a lead role in the council’s most complex and high-profile schemes, the newly created Major Projects Team will give you opportunities to transfer skills and knowledge learned and take on further responsibilities to progress along your chosen career pathway.
Please see our separate recruitment campaigns for the Project Manager and Project Technical Lead positions.
For an informal discussion, please contact Alex Fear, Major Scheme Project Manager on 01934 426458.
Anticipated interview date: Tuesday 10 March 2020
