Seasonal Splash Park Attendant X3

Lancaster City Council is currently recruiting to 3 Seasonal Splash Park Attendants to work in the Splash Park and Kiosk at Happy Mount Park, Morecambe. This post is fixed term from 1st May 2020 to 6 September 2020.

Responsibilities will involve monitoring users and visitor to the Splash Park, which will require overseeing public safety within the facility, in the kiosk you will be serving customers and selling tickets and within Happy Mount Park, ensuring the park is clean and tidy and ready for visitors.

The role involves water quality testing, carrying out regular daily duties such as cleaning and litter picking, cash handling, dealing with customer enquiries and ensuring a high standard of public service is provided at all times.

A First Aid qualification is essential to the role and therefore a valid certificate will need to be provided prior to your start date.

You must be able to work as part of a team and on a shift rota basis, which will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays and available to work fully between 1st May 2020 to 6th September 2020.

Two of the posts are 18 hours per week, and one post is 25 hours per week, all posts will be working on a shift rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays. Please indicate on your application which hours you wish to apply for.  

  • Post 1 – 25 hours working Wednesday to Sunday 1.00pm – 6.00pm
  • Post 2 – 18 hours working alternatively with post 3. Monday and Tuesday 1.00pm-6.00pm Saturday and Sunday - 9.00am-1.00pm
  • Post 3 – 18 hours. Monday and Tuesday 9.00am-1.00pm and Saturday and Sunday 1.00pm-6.00pm

The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Earlier this year Lancaster City Council unanimously declared a climate emergency and will therefore work towards reducing carbon emissions to net-zero by 2030. As part of this role, you will be expected to participate and work towards reducing carbon emissions.

Please note the Council is currently reviewing its pay and grading structure and the salary may be subject to change.
