About the Role

The Assistant Finance Analyst sits within the Financial Planning and Analysis team. This role may be offered as an apprenticeship, subject to eligibility. We support the charity by providing vital financial reporting, analysis, and expert advice. In doing so, we enable the Board, Executive, and Senior Leadership Teams to better understand business performance and help deliver Shelter’s organisational strategy. Your challenge will be to make sure that stakeholders receive accurate, reliable, and timely information that will help shape their decision making. We’ll also rely on you to support a variety of budget holders so that they can successfully complete their financial planning tasks. All the while you’ll be part of a team that strives for best practice and collaborates to deliver Shelter’s mission and vision.

About you
Commercially aware, customer-focused and comfortable collaborating as part of a team, you have great time management skills, strong attention to detail, excellent numeracy and the ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines. You also have intermediate Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications like Outlook and Word. Experience of using accounting software, or databases, especially Unit 4 Business World is desirable but not essential.   A willingness to apply creative thinking, challenge the status quo and introduce new ideas is important too, as is respect for others opinions and a commitment to delivering a prompt, effective, and personalised service.
