About the Role
We currently have an opportunity for a full time (37.5 hours per week) Care Assistant, to cover maternity leave until June 2021,at an adapted home providing residential care adults with learning disabilities.
Your role as a care assistant is to provide appropriate support to individuals. This will include full personal care (there is hoisting involved), assistance with eating and drinking and in developing full and meaningful lifestyles that are appropriate to their needs and wishes as well as promoting individuality, choice and people`s rights. This role involves supporting service users with their medication.
To be able to support the service users we support to develop opportunities available to them is essential.
The role also requires that you are able to undertake some practical domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
Candidates must have a clean manual driving licence and be willing to drive service users if needed.
You do not need sector experience as we provide a structured induction and comprehensive training to support you with your role and you will have the opportunity to gain an accredited vocational qualification.
We are looking for passionate people who with a `can-do` attitude who are driven by the desire to make a difference and who have the ability to recognise the wishes and needs of vulnerable adults and communicate effectively using different methods according to people`s needs.
Youmust be able to work shifts as part of a rota system which will include weekend and bank holiday working, which is overa two week period. You must be able to work as part of a team to deliver an excellent service to the people we support and be flexible in your approach to work. You will have a commitment to equality and diversity and take a positive approach to supporting people with learning disabilities.
