Senior Night Care Officer

West Berkshire Council is looking to recruit a Senior Night Care Officer at residential and dementia care home, Walnut Close - Thatcham. 

Walnut Close is home to frail elderly residents, some living with dementia and/or physical disabilities, for which we aim to offer a friendly, safe and secure environment.  The night shifts are waking nights and Senior Night Care Officers are required to work a designated shift pattern and one weekend out of three to cover the care home rota.

 You will work alongside and manage the night care team to ensure that the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of the residents are met.  The successful candidate will be adaptable and approachable with two years care experience, ideally experiencing dementia care and care of  people with elderly frailties. 

You will have good working knowledge of CQC standards together with a minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care and prepared to work towards an NVQ Level 3. 

You will need to be familiar with the principles of person-centred care and the Mental Capacity Act, you will also posess excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills, a 'can do' attitude and the ability to remain calm when dealing with challenging and difficult situations. 

£15 night enhancement paid for shifts worked.

This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
