More Information

Social Worker (Adoption in Merseyside - AIM)

Adoption in Merseyside is a shared service bringing together 4 Local Authority Adoption Teams across the Merseyside region including Sefton, Knowsley, Liverpool and Wirral. This is in line with the Department for Education regionalisation initiative across the UK. The hub and spoke service will be based in New Hutte Neighbourhood Centre, Halewood, South Liverpool. The social worker will be working within the Recruitment and Family finding Team, recruiting and assessing adopters for children from the partnership area when the plan is permanency through adoption. You will work closely with colleagues to achieve timely adoption placement, and ensure quality preparation, training and support of adopters.

The location of New Hutte allows a supportive work environment and the post is funded by Sefton on a secondment arrangement to Knowsley Borough Council who are the host authority.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and experienced social worker. You will have a thorough knowledge of adoption legislation and statutory guidance.

The successful candidate must be motivated and committed with a range of skills and experience to strengthen a newly formed developing team. In return, we can offer a supportive team, regular supervision and an opportunity to develop.

Due to the nature of work, the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the candidate will only be appointed if a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service is obtained.

Applicants must be professional qualified Social Workers and registered with Social Work England. The full list of criteria can be found within the person specification.

Closing Date: Monday 30th March 2020
