You will be the council's lead for capital financial planning and management, working with services to improve the council's capital governance and to plan and manage an ambitious 5-year capital investment programme aligned to our Asset and Place Strategy. You will play a key role in the development of the council's Capital Strategy and Treasury Management Strategy, as well as contributing to the production of the council's published statement of accounts.
A fully qualified accountant, you will have knowledge and expertise in capital finance. Your sector background is less important to us – what we are looking for is an individual with excellent financial acumen combined with strong communication, relationship-building and influencing skills. You will be able to guide the development of a complex multi-year capital programme and have the presentation skills to enable a range of audiences to grasp the key financial issues.
