Risk Reduction Analyst

About the role

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service has the responsibility of protecting over one million people who live in the 650 square miles of Surrey. The Service employs just under 700 people across the County in a variety of roles. Comprising both uniformed personnel and support staff, they all share one vision: With you, making Surrey safer.

The role is based within the Business Intelligence Team; the team’s main aim being to identify, manage and disseminate operational risk information. This specific role is to develop Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) capability to use risk information for specific targeting and monitoring of risk classifications and locations.

Main tasks include: sourcing and collecting information. Comparing and analysing the information to produce areas or specific premises to target visits. The information used may include; population statistics, route cost data, incident data and other geographical attributed datasets. The role is integral to ensuring that the information gathered by the SFRS is used to benefit the wider business and community safety work.

You will be expected to liaise with internal and external custodians of information.  Explore leads for new data sharing partnerships.  Provide advice, assist and play an active role in promoting firefighter, business and community safety.
