We have an exciting opportunity for an inspiring, enthusiastic and highly diligent Head of Camden Accessible Transport Services who is committed to leading a service that supports vulnerable people to travel safely and access critical services as part of helping them to live independent lives, learn and participate in the community.
Overseeing a busy transport depot, servicing the council’s vehicle fleet and with over 30 coaches and minibuses ferrying children to and from school, and older people to council services, we can guarantee that there will never be a dull moment.
Working with other council services and established partners, the successful candidate will lead on transforming the service to meet key council’s objectives, including maximising efficiencies, responding to the climate emergency, and reducing toxic emissions from the council’s vehicles.
Due to the nature of the post you may be required to work outside of the usual business hours such as occasional evening as and when necessary.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

To be considered for this fantastic opportunity the successful candidate will possess experience at a senior level of having successfully managed a transport service. You will have an excellent working knowledge of health and safety requirements consistent with managing staff, vehicles and a depot. The successful candidate will have well developed written and verbal communication skills and an understanding of the financial context in which local government operates. The ideal candidate will have qualified to hold an ‘O’ License or possess substantial equivalent experience in a similar post.
You will be based in offices at the council’s transport depot near Kings Cross.
