A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join a modern, innovative Council. We are looking to strengthen our Highways and Environment Service through the appointment of a dedicated Business Improvement Manager.


This is an exciting time to work in the council’s Highways and Environment Service. If you would like to help make Central Bedfordshire a great place to live and work then we would like to hear from you.


You will work with the Head of Business Improvement, Efficiency Adviser and the Programme Management Office to support the delivery of the Highways and Environment Service and ensure a consistent approach across the service.  Day-to-day, you will develop and deliver business improvement processes and coordinate and collate key strategies and policies for the Highways and Environment Service. You will also seek funding opportunities, support officers to prepare bids and ensure robust monitoring and evaluation processes are followed for successful funding applications.  


To join us you will have experience in a similar role, possibly with a policy or project/programme management background. You are organised, well versed in business development, performance management and/or funding applications. You can analyse statistical data, develop business improvement processes, write policy and strategy documents, and enjoy completing tasks in a complex environment. With this expertise, you’ll have the confidence to contribute and your strong communication skills will be essential along with an organised, team-focused approach.
