Contract: Permanent

The Head Teacher and Governors are looking to appoint a highly effective, caring, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. This is a 1:1 position to support a child joining Reception in September 2020 who has a full-time EHCP in place, and is a fixed-term contract for as long as the child attends the school and we receive funding for the role.

The role involves supporting children with complex physical, sensory or learning and development needs. Any experience using visual timetables, Makaton, positive handling training and knowledge implementing behaviour management strategies will prove advantageous. There may be a requirement to provide toileting and intimate care support.

Whilst you will be expected to work under the direction of the class teacher you will also have the ability to use your own initiative to organise tasks and activities; creating simple resources to support the pupil’s work as appropriate. You will work closely with the class teacher and the School’s Inclusion Manager as well as working in partnership with external contacts to support learning and development.

We are looking for a person who is calm, kind, patient and who:

  • is cheerful, positive and enthusiastic about working with children
  • is experienced in supporting pupils with learning difficulties
  • is an effective communicator with pupils and staff
  • is able to build and maintain effective relationships
  • is committed to working as part of a team
  • is able to follow the ethos of the school

In return, we offer a supportive and welcoming community of children and staff, a senior leadership team who care for and value their staff, good opportunities for CPD, well behaved happy children eager to attend school and engage with their learning.

During this Covid 19 Pandemic visits to the school will not be possible. Please visit our school website to gain a picture of our school family community. Our Inclusion Manager will respond to any questions regarding the post; please email these to the school office

Please apply online.
