Apprentice Gardener

Environmental Services provides critical frontline services such as refuse collection, bereavement services and oversees the maintenance of parks, cemeteries, sports pitches and local nature reserves. They also provide an emergency response to flooding, fallen trees and other emergencies.

We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Gardener who will become an integral part of Environmental Services Landscape Maintenance team.

Whilst training the postholder will gain practical experience in maintaining cemeteries, working within landscape and sports turf maintenance teams, completing playground maintenance checks and repairs, undertaking tree work and working across other areas of the Landscape Maintenance service.

Apprentices normally attend work 4 days per week and college one day. During the apprenticeship the successful candidate will work towards an NVQ Level 2 but will be supported to achieve level 3 if possible. The apprentice will be employed for a minimum of 2 years, though this may be extended into a third year allowing level 3 qualifications to be achieved.

If you feel you would like to join the team we would like to hear from you!
