Senior Practitioner - Therapeutic Emotional Support Service (TESS)

An exciting opportunity has arisen in TESS to appoint a new Senior Practitioner to join our multi-disciplinary therapy team.

We are looking for someone who would be interested in working a minumum of 21 hours per week or  36.5 hours per week.

THE SERVICE: The Therapeutic Emotional Support Service (TESS) is our in-house emotional wellbeing service for Birmingham’s children in care, children on the ‘edge of care’ and young people who have left care.  Our focus is to promote the health and emotional wellbeing of children and young people and to support those who have responsibility for their care.  We offer our service via a therapeutic model approach grounded in the relationship-based tradition and heavily influenced by systemic, strengths based and restorative approaches.

THE ROLE: You are invited to join our specialist City-wide emotional wellbeing service to support a multidisciplinary team of therapeutic social workers, an art therapist and clinical psychologists in their delivery of a valued relationship based service to promote a positive working culture that maintains high standards of practice - and empowering others to do the same, to promote the development of nurturing parental relationships for our most vulnerable and complex children.

We would like to invite you to join our experienced Senior Practitioner team to offer advice, guidance and support via our consultation service to the Children in Care social work teams and foster carers and to oversee the initial stages for new referrals.  Our Senior Practitioners offer professional support to other members of the team as well as holding a deputising role for the Team Manager. You will hold a small caseload that offers a direct therapy service and will contribute to the multi-agency planning and delivery of a comprehensive package of support.

If you are innovative, positive, dedicated and able to embrace change and challenges, we would like to invite you join our team.
