Be part of a successful and thriving Educational Psychology Service

 An exciting opportunity to work within an EPS and also be part of a new and innovate multi-disciplinary team to support vulnerable cohorts.

Bracknell Forest EPS are looking for Educational Psychologists to undertake a specialist role within the service, in relation to vulnerable learners (e.g. children accessing social care, looked after children).

This unique and exciting role will mean successful applicants will deliver 0.5fte of their role within the EPS in what would be regarded a ‘typical’ EP position (for example, supporting a patch of link schools, offering both core & traded service delivery, completing statutory work). The remaining 0.5fte will be dedicated to a new local authority initiative working in a multi-disciplinary team to support vulnerable adolescents. This will involve close working with our local authority social care colleagues to support children / young people who may be identified as children in care, child in need or on a child protection plan.

Bracknell Forest is a small, unitary authority easily accessible from London and Southampton with good communications, an expanding population and opportunities to work in both urban and rural settings.

In Bracknell Forest Educational Psychology Service, we aim to creatively apply psychology in collaboration with the community to develop new perspectives and facilitate positive change. We have a successful traded model and schools subscribe to an SLA that establishes consultation as a core element of our service delivery. Schools are buying direct packages of support via an online Support Services to Schools Hub – Can (Do) – Bracknell.  With over 80% of schools trading, we have significantly increased our income.  Our excellent reputation and the new flexible purchasing model mean that we now need more EPs to help deliver our traded service to schools.

 What is it like working in our team:

 As an Educational Psychologist in Bracknell you will work in a stable, close knit, friendly and supportive team that is highly regarded by our LA colleagues and within our schools and settings. You will have guaranteed supervision from experienced colleagues and the opportunity to meet in small groups for peer supervision and regular professional development.  We are committed to providing our EPs with a balance of work between statutory and traded, as well as the opportunity to develop specialisms, or carry out regular

 You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training:

 You will promote the healthy emotional development and learning of vulnerable C/YP through the application of psychology, by working with a multi-disciplinary team. Training groups of staff, professionals and parents / carers will be a key component of the role.
