Occupational Therapist

We are looking for a special person to take on an exciting opportunity.

Location: All Schools within Rivermead Inclusive Trust

We are seeking to appoint a qualified, Band 5 Occupational Therapist, to work as part of the Therapy Team across the Rivermead Inclusive Trust.  You will work closely with the Therapy Lead for the Trust and the therapy teams and staff within the three schools of the Trust. Our Special Schools have a high proportion of learners who require regular occupational therapy and other physical interventions and so we would like to appoint a therapist who will be able to meet this demand. As an innovative and forward thinking Trust, we would like to offer a newly qualified therapist the opportunity to join our team and gain invaluable experience in an educational setting.

The Post holder will:

  • work directly with young people, assessing needs and providing intervention
  • provide specialist training to other staff to develop whole school approaches to meet the physical needs in the classroom and throughout the school day
  • provide advice and guidance to parents; where appropriate training them to support their children at home
  • oversee the work of support staff working with the post-holder

You should be enthusiastic and motivated and able to manage your own workload. You must be flexible, approachable and able to communicate with a range of professionals, parents and the young people themselves. You should have some experience of working with children and young people with Autism and/or other Special Educational Needs.

Please contact Wendy Pettitt, Receptionist for an application pack and to arrange a visit.

Closing Date: Noon Thursday 24th September 2020

Interviews Week Commencing 28th September 2020
