Learning and Development Officer (Study Programme)

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed team player, with a passion for developing innovative approaches, to teach Functional Skills on our Study Programme.

Working primarily with 16-18 year old learners to improve their employability prospects, we are looking for a maths specialist to develop and deliver an aspirational curriculum that links to learner’s career interests and everyday life, whilst embedding literacy, skills for work and British values.

The ideal candidate should be a team player who is inspiring, enthusiastic and confident to cover English, Workskills and PSHE lessons. They should also have the ability to overcome barriers with learners who may previously had a negative experience of school. Candidates should have a learner-centred approach and be able to tailor delivery and resources to support individual’s leaning needs. The candidate should also be flexible to developing remote delivery.

Kettering Borough Council is a great place to work. We pride ourselves on our One Team culture where people feel engaged and their ideas are taken on board to improve services and deliver efficiencies.

The Council offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits including flexible working, good training and development opportunities, generous leave entitlement, Local Government Pension Scheme, free parking, annual leave purchase scheme and car user allowance.

If you would like to discuss the above post please contact Jade Sloper, Curriculum Manager (01536) 535900.
