Design Technology Technician

36 hours per week, term time only

Working Hours:  8.10am – 4:10pm (Monday - Friday)

Salary:  Scale 4 - £19,304 (actual pro rata salary per annum)

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Design Technology Technician to join our friendly department team of technicians and teachers. You will be supporting staff in the teaching of Art, Design, Graphics, Textiles, Photography, 3D Design and Construction and provide general technical and administrative assistance to teaching staff, by fully supporting them in their delivery of the curriculum and raising the achievement of students. We are keen for all our employees to progress and this would be an excellent opportunity for someone thinking about pursuing a teaching career.

It is desirable that the successful applicant can demonstrate:

Relevant experience with school equipment (especially band saw, pillar drill, 3D printer and laser cutter)

 Relevant experience of working within the construction industry (brick laying, painting and decorating, tiling, joinery etc)

A comprehensive understanding of health and safety and good practice both in school and construction industry

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Efficiency and reliability

Experience of working in a school environment
